Memories

First, let’s get the boring stuff out of the way.  In attempt to make my blogging not only more frequent but easier I decided to move my site from http://web.me.com/aplbuddy1 to a new word press blogging website.  It’s not only more convenient (because that’s what we’re all looking for now-a-days) but it also allows me better access using the iPhone or any internet connected device.  I can now pretty much blog from anywhere.

You’re going to see some changes with my blogging.  I’m going to try and incorporate more daily issues not only pertaining to the bike but also my life’s balance surrounding fitness and how I’m trying to incorporate more positive thinking towards being healthier.  Being the realist that I am, I know there are others in far worse shape than myself and hopefully my few words can inspire someone to maybe get out on a ride.  That would be great!  I’ll tell you a little secret about cycling.  It feels exactly like it did when you were a kid.  Remember how liberating it was when you were able to escape your front yard and journey to the end of the block?  How about the end of the neighborhood?  I have so many memories as a kid cruising around on my bike.  I can still remember my first bike.  It was a banana seat hand me down from my sisters complete with silver stars on the seat and streamers off the grips.  That of course was my first upgrade from the “Big Wheel” I had.  Loved that 3 wheeler.

It’s no different for me now.  I love riding and it gives me a wonderful feeling of accomplishment.  Of course as an adult we strive to do better, ride longer and climb higher but deep inside I still have that smiling 8 year old screaming to get out.  So when was the last time you saw your inner kid?  Give it a try, what could it hurt?

  1. Ha! I remember your little blonde head, no shirt, little short wearing self on that big wheel! You would stop really quick on it so you can flip it around! Keep it up, bro!
